With information provided by RAF Lyneham and the Thames Valley Police I have re-worked the timings along the Repatriation Route.
Please be aware that this is based on a single repatriation and if more than one body is being returned, the time at RAF Lyneham could be extended, sometimes quite considerably.
Another factor that can cause delays is the Cortege slowing down along the route, so that other groups can pay their respects. We have no knowledge of these groups which appear spontaneously and somewhat erratically. Plus traffic congestion however caused.
I would advocate taking up your positions on the Repatriation Route thirty (30) minutes before the anticipated arrival time, those in exposed areas will have to take what the weather throws at them. I think the motto to be employed is 'It's better to be too early, than too late.'
